Step 1
Initial Consultation
We’ll begin by evaluating your property to make sure it's eligible for an ADU. This includes checking zoning, lot size, setback requirements, and utility availability.
We’ll discuss your vision for the ADU—whether you want a detached unit, an attached unit, or a garage conversion, and how much space you’ll need.
Step 2
ADU Design & Submit Plans for Approval
We’ll work with an architect to create the floor plans that meet both your needs and the city’s building codes. We’ll ensure that the design complies with energy efficiency standards, layout, and aesthetics.
The architectural and engineering plans, along with site plans and other necessary documentation, will be submitted to the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) or other building authority for review.

Step 3
Construction
Site Preparation: We begin by preparing the site—clearing the area, leveling the ground, and digging for foundations or utilities.
Foundation & Framing: The next step is pouring the foundation and framing the structure. This may include a concrete slab, crawl space, or a raised foundation, depending on the design.
Utilities & Systems: We’ll install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure everything is up to code.
Interior Work: After framing, we move on to installing windows, insulation, drywall, flooring, and interior finishes. This is where the design starts to take shape!
Step 4
Inspections
Throughout the construction process, we’ll schedule inspections with LADBS to ensure that all work meets the required safety and quality standards.
Once construction is complete, a final inspection will be conducted to make sure everything is in compliance with the approved plans and codes.

Step 5
Final Approval
After passing the final inspection, we’ll apply for an occupancy permit and if the ADU is detached, we'll ensure that utility connections (water, sewer, electricity) are in place and functioning properly.
